![]() The birds species most prevalently found were Giganhinga, a extinct huge darter which was resurrected, that swam like a penguin. Here they found that 60 percent of diet were crocodilians, 15 percent were fish, other 15 percent were mammals either terrestrial or marine mammals(ex dolphins), 5 percent of turtles or snakes, and the 5 percent were birds. Many scientists speculate that these jaguars came from those living in the Amazon river who's diet had caimans as a majority. These jaguars were interesting as their diets were completely different from any other jaguar sub population as they were crocodilian specialists. It wasn't a surprise when 50 years after the formation of the mega wetland, a distinct population of jaguars were found residing in the wetlands. ![]() For one there was a large watering hole that can benefit any animal either prey or predator. With the formation of the mega wetland, there was opportunity for all animals.
